CHARITY DOBROTOLJUBIE 2014 BY THE CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE, OHRID

Dobrotoljubie by the Church St. Georgij, Ohrid is an association of citizens founded in 2004 and aimed to improve the living conditions of people with special needs, intellectual disabilities, and the elderly through various activities, training, and programs. The association tries to integrate these people into society, enabling them to live a sufficiently autonomous and quality life.

The project began in 2005 in the premises of the hall of St. George - Ohrd church, which were adapted according to the conditions required for these individuals. Initially, the project started with people with disabilities in 2005. Father Stjepan Kushan from the Catholic Church in Ohrid and Father Dime Kochovski from the St. George-Ohrd church realized all of that with the support of Bishop Kiro Stojanov. The project initially operated through JRS-Skopje, and this service realized all donations.

The Dobrotoljubie 2014 - Ohrid association was formed in 2014, so in 2015 started functioning independently, and all activities and donations were realized through it. We are financially supported by Renovabis from Germany, who has funded us since the beginning. In 2021, in addition to the project for people with disabilities, the project for older people began to function after we realized there was a need for this type of project in Ohrid. This project has two supervisors, Father Dimche Gjorgjeski from the Orthodox Church, who is also the president of the Association, and Father Oliver Tantushev from the Catholic Church in Ohrid.

To finance and implement the project and its activities, we are fully supported by Bishop Kiro Sojanov from the Catholic Church in Macedonia and the Metropolitan of the Debar-Kicevo Eparchy, Mr. Timotej.
